Retreats

Here is what to expect during your week at our Art retreat.

Our all-inclusive retreat is designed for women only, for the safety, comfort, bonding and joy of being in a peaceful, inspiring setting. (We make exceptions for couples retreats or corporate team building retreats.) Our retreats are meant to be a place to get away from the daily grind of life and pamper yourself in a peaceful environment while doing some form of artwork with other women. Retreats are $2,250 for the week and it includes all your lodging, gourmet meals and art supplies. Classes are designed for any experience level. I teach from a beginner level and work up through the week so you can learn new forms of art or just explore more of something you know. We have 2 shared bathrooms, one upstairs with a walk-in shower near the bedrooms and one downstairs that features an extra large jacuzzi tub and shower. You can choose the room you'd like when you make your reservation.

Monday: Everyone arrives in the late afternoon/evening to settle into their rooms and then meet all the other lovely ladies over a gourmet dessert in the dining room around 7:00.

Tuesday through Thursday: Gourmet breakfast is served at 8:30 by our personal Chef, Elizabeth, in the dining room. Class starts around 9:00 in the Art studio. We will take an hour break for lunch at noon and resume class at 1:00. Short break around 3:00 for home made snack and drinks. Afternoon class will end around 5:30. At 6:30 a 3 course, gourmet dinner will be served by our Chef. The evenings will be yours to relax and explore a little. The art studio will be open for adult coloring or other interests and you can certainly explore the gardens or sit on the front porch.

There will be various drinks available all day, but we do not have a liquor license to serve alcohol.

Friday: Breakfast is served at 8:30 and then you check-out or if you paid for the extra day/night you can go exploring our beautiful region on your own.

Saturday: Check out after a light breakfast.

Mandala Dotting

January 13-17, 2025

There is nothing more relaxing than sitting in a warm studio on a cold, blustery, winter day and painting dot mandalas! This week we focus on learning color blending and how to make mandalas. We will start simple and work our way through a few boxes that you can choose and take home.

*Mandala dotting does require a steady hand, so please keep that in mind for this class.

Day 1 we will learn the basics of color gradients and mixing paint to get the shading you need and start with a coaster and/or rock.

Day 2 we will pick out a couple of wooden boxes, do some base painting and start our mandalas.

Day 3 we will continue with making more complicated patterns, then seal up our boxes to be ready to take home.

Polymer Clay Landscapes

February 17-21,2025

This retreat is such a fun one! Playing with polymer clay brings back those childhood memories of playing with playdough. We will definitely be taking this to the next level as I walk you through making your own mini landscape on a rock. I'll teach you about the clay and how it works and how to sculpt with it. You will be able to choose you rock and personalize your own landscape.

Day 1 we will learn the basics of polymer clay and choose our rocks and start the foundation of our landscape.

Day 2 we will continue with sculpting and learning about "caning" to create leaves with gradients and butterfly wings.

Day 3 we will finish building our landscapes and adding the details before baking it. Later in the day we will be attaching the rocks to our wooden bases with glass domes.

Spring Quilling

March 17-21, 2025

This retreat is all about quilling. We will start with a very simple quilling to get the basics, and progress to a more complicated design through each day. All of these will be matted and framed.

Day 1 We will learn how to use the tools for quilling and get a basic understanding as we start our first simple quilling.

Day 2 we will start a more complicated flower design and you can choose your own colors. In the afternoon we will start on our final, detailed quilling.

Day 3 we will spend the day working on our final quilling and finish it up.
